Hot Prices for Chilly Weather!

Hello Thrifters! I hope all is well and that you’re ever so proud of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! Being from a country of soccer, it took me a while to be interested in football, but I’m so happy they won the big game!

Lately I’ve been consumed with work but I was able to fit in a quick trip to Goodwill – and wow I’m so glad I did! I found a great jacket, and a really nice pair of fitted blue jeans.

The jacket I found at Goodwill is this white puffer jacket from Dollhouse.

puffer jacket

It was as new as new could be! I’ve never been into puffer jackets because I always thought they looked funny. This jacket certainly changed my mind and I knew I had to buy it! I love it! It keeps me warm enough but doesn’t make me sweat. And, the price was just $12.98!

Then I found this simple distressed pair of jeans.

The length and waist fit perfectly. I usually wear belts with most jeans, but I didn’t have to this time. The denim is very light and soft, and althought they are skinny jeans, I don’t have to do the “wiggly dance” to get into them! They’re my new favorite jeans now, and they only cost $6.98 at Goodwill!

When the evenings were a little cooler I wore the outfit I thrifted for an evening stroll.

What to wear to brunch?

Hey lovely thrifters, I hope you’ve been well! Am I the only one who felt like this past January was the shortest one ever?! Hehe.

So far I’ve been successful maintaining my minimalist closet; I hope you’ve been able to commit to your New Year’s resolutions as well. One thing I haven’t been so good at is keeping up with friends, so I decided to meet up with one on a brunch hangout.

I needed a simple dress and of course I had to check Goodwill first! That’s where I found this little green dress with pockets. I LOVE pockets! The dress captured my eye even though it looked kinda “boring.” (Except the pockets, of course!)

dress with tag

The price of the dress was just $5.98 at Goodwill, which is about what most dresses sell for at Goodwill. I’m on a budget, but I don’t mind paying $6 for a dress I know I’ll wear a lot!

I realized that a good statement collar could elevate this simple dress. So I decided to pair it with a pearl collared top and it worked really well. I felt like the “missing” element on the dress disappeared when I made that little style tweak!

See the collar peeking out from under these gorgeous flowers? :)

Unfortunately, due to a sudden emergency my friend had to cancel our brunch hangout. So I decided to take pictures in the dress, because why not?

If you’d like to visit these fun photo opps, they’re at 1113 S. Florida Ave in Lakeland, behind the Born & Bread Bakehouse.

Have fun, and thrift on!

A Classic Look for Class

Hello my thrift hunters, I hope your week is going well. School has resumed for me, and I already want the semester to end! Hehe. I haven’t been able to go to Goodwill as much lately, but when I popped in last week I found this nice Ralph Lauren Oxford shirt.

oxford shirt

Initially when I saw the shirt, I thought it was for a man, but it’s definately a women’s cut. The shirt was just $9.98 at Goodwill, which is amazing! On the Ralph Lauren website, it sells for $89.50! This is an absolute win for me.

I have just one in-person class, so I decided to wear the shirt paired with a White House Black Market skirt I found at Goodwill and the tunic I found at Goodwill and featured in a previous post. I wore the skirt on New Year’s (hence the noisemakers!) It was brand new, tags still on, and originally priced at $98 – the Goodwill price was just $9.98 — or about 90% off! Score!

skirt

I love to layer because the temperature has been quite cold in the morning and warms up in the afternoon. I was neither too cold nor too warm throughout the day, and I love the look!

I think this outfit was cute and simple for lectures, studying on campus, or on a coffee date or hangout with friends.

What do you think? See you next time, I’m off to class!

Fit & Thrifty!

Happy New Year to you all! Just like that we’ve made it to another year, and I’m excited to see what this year brings.

My resolutions are to embark on a more healthy lifestyle journey and maintain my minimalist wardrobe. Speaking of a healthy lifestyle – a good way to begin would be to start training for the Hippie Dash for Peace, Love & Goodwill! It’s a super fun, unique race event!

I went to Goodwill the other day and there were so many donated items that were brand new with tags still on! I’ve never really browsed through the active wear section, so I decided to give it a shot – and I’m so glad I did! Since I plan to exercise more this year, I wanted to find new or gently used leggings. I didn’t have to look long, and there! I saw a pair of brand new leggings with the tags still on.

leggings

The Goodwill price for the leggings was just $7.98, but they retail for $34.99. I love the material (not itchy), the fit, the comfort and mostly the multicolored design! The leggings will pair well with other colored tops — this is a great advantage for me, as it will allow me to maintain my minimalist wardrobe.

I paired my new comfy leggings with shoes I found last year in Goodwill’s men’s section.

shoes and leggings

Did I mention the leggings also have those handy deep pockets? They hold my phone and debit card perfectly!

I’m so glad I browsed Goodwill’s active wear section! Here’s to a happy, healthy – and of course thrifty – 2021!

See you soon!

Christmas with Calvin

Holly Jolly Christmas, my thrifting elves! I hope your shopping is going swell. I’m so glad to be done with mine, I can finally relax. This week, I decided to go shopping for myself at Goodwill. I had a feeling I would find something exciting, and sure enough I did! (The power of positive thinking!)

I headed over to the Oldsmar Goodwill, with my $5 OFF coupon ready to go! You can get your coupon HERE.

It only took me about 5 minutes to shuffle through the dress section and find my perfect Christmas dress. Here’s a sneak peek!

dress with tag

Lo and behold! A cute black cocktail dress with POCKETS! Not to mention it’s also a Calvin Klein dress! At just $7.98, this was a massive steal!

I snatched up the dress and headed over to the shoe section to look for some heels. There were lots and lots of cute shoes, but none in my size that would go with the dress. Then I remembered this cute pair of Calvins I found last year at Goodwill for $14.96.

red heels

And I imagined how perfect it’d be to match those shoes with this dress…

Just like that, I had found my holiday outfit of a Calvin Klein dress and Calvin Klein heels for under $30! Merry Christmas to me!

And did I mention it has POCKETS?!

Now it’s your turn – get your coupon and go to Goodwill for holiday shopping!

Tis the Season to Save!

Hello thrifters! I can’t believe the holidays have already drawn near and I bet you are heavily involved in holiday shopping! If so, you should know Goodwill is now running a $5 off coupon! You can find it here: http://bit.ly/35H65b3

Just show the coupon on your phone to the cashier and you’re good to go! There are always great things at Goodwill for the holidays – from new ornaments and home décor to donated dishes and platters perfect for family dinners!

Today I want to share with you some simple yet sophisticated attire I found at Goodwill. I found this tunic style top for $7.98.

shirt with tags

A great price, especially for a piece that was brand new with tags still on! I love it when that happens! The material is stretchy and it feels really soft. I’ve worn it all week while running errands and going for a stroll.

When I wanted to dress up a bit I paired the top with these boots I bought last year from Goodwill. Pairing the boots with the outfit makes me have an autumn feel – although Florida weather doesn’t permit wearing boots all the time. (We all know how our “autumn weather” is.)

modeling outfit

On another day, I styled the top by pairing it with this high-waisted slit skirt. I bought the floral skirt a couple of years ago at Goodwill for under $4.00. Pairing the top tucked into the skirt made it seem quite sophisticated, but still a casual look.

modeling outfit

The style and cut of the top makes it really versatile – I think it was a great find and an awesome addition to my closet. I’ll show you in the future other ways I plan to style this top.

In the meantime, get out and use your Goodwill coupon, and let me know what you find!

Survey Says…Best Accidental Halloween Costume Ever!

Happy Happy Fall, lovely thrift hunters! I’ve been away for a while, taking a much needed social media break, but I’m back! I can’t wait to show you my last minute, accidental Halloween outfit!

I wanted to dress up as Woody from Toy Story, although I’ve never paid much attention to the movie. I’ve reluctantly watched it because I sometimes babysit and thought it’d be fun to dress up as that character. But, finding a last-minute Woody costume wasn’t in my thrifting future!

I somehow stumbled on a suit set at the men’s section of Goodwill, and it dawned on me I could pull it off by dressing as Steve Harvey. Lol!

The striped suit set I found was a total of $40.00.

suit set

Next I found a large men’s vest for $4.18 (I adjusted the back with a safety pin so I could fit in into it), and a tie for $3.98.

vest and tie

Next I grabbed a new handkerchief for just $1.29.

This photo was my inspiration, and I think I pretty much nailed it!

photo comparison

I couldn’t find any black shoes that would fit from the men’s section, so I improvised and paired the suit with my platforms.

full costume

I think the only missing element here is my unshaven head, but I’m only willing to go so far for this look! :)

I don’t think the look is too bad for a last minute Halloween outfit! What do you think?

Happy Halloween, enjoy your candies!

Summertime & the Thriftin’ is Easy

Hello my lovely thrifters! Have you been finding some cool summer finds at Goodwill? I have! I know we have until next month for summer to officially end, and that can’t come soon enough for me!

I had a lot of luck on a recent trip to Goodwill. Yay! First, I found this beautiful multicolored dress for just $5.98. This dress is definitely an attention grabber and a spotlight stealer!

dress on hanger

The material is really easy to iron, and it has a white lining on the inside which is very soft. I love this dress — even though it doesn’t have pockets :( I also love the cut out style on the bottom. I think it adds a little attitude to the dress.

This dress is a great  summer find, especially at the Goodwill price of less than six dollars! I can totally see myself wearing this for an evening stroll along Clearwater Beach.

Stay tuned for my next outfit for Fall – I think you’ll love it as much as I do!

Edgy & Economical!

Hello lovely thrifters!

I’m back with another thrift hunt. It feels like it’s been raining a lot lately, but hey, anything to help cool down the summer heat. On this week’s find, I went to Goodwill (where else?) and I found a super cute pair of distressed jeans and a simple white cropped top.

The cropped top was just $4.48! It doesn’t have a brand name, but it’s great quality and it feels really comfy. I’m not sure how to describe the material but it feels super soft on the inside and a bit stiff on the outside. I also really love the “blunt” cut style of how it was cropped. To me, the shirt seems pretty versatile, as it could be paired with leggings, jogging shorts, bike shorts, etc.

Next up, as I wandered around Goodwill, I came upon these distessed jeans, from a brand called Soho. I snatched them up for just $6.98!

I love a good distressed jean, but this style almost seemed a bit too much for me. But I compromised on this and I don’t regret it at all! The jeans fit great and I even decided to accessorize them with a bag chain to add more style and edginess!

Here are pictures of me rocking this super cute casual style in front of one of my favorite murals!

All for a total of just $11.46!  You can’t beat that!

Keep dreaming big, thrifters, and I’ll see you again soon with some more stylish outfits and amazing Goodwill prices!

Hello, Spring Break!

And hello friends!

It’s finally Spring Break! The time for adventures and parties is here. For this break from school I plan on going to the beach and doing other fun stuff with my friends.

Also let me not forget, I will be thrift hunting at Goodwill to find more colorful outfits!

But enough about my plans already. Now let me tell you all about this week’s beautiful hunt I thrifted. I went to a different Goodwill location and my oh my! The dress racks looked so colorful and beautiful. I found the most darling and beautiful pink dress ever. To top it off, the dress was brand new with tags on it. I LOVE when that happens!

dress with price tag

The moment I saw the dress, I was excited about the bold color and the lace details on the neckline that run all around the back of the dress.

close up face
See what I mean?

I love the length and style of the back of the dress. As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog post, long sleeve shirts and dresses are my go-to favorite things to wear. I’m conscious about my arms and shoulders so I tend to opt for clothes that cover them. So while I was a little reluctant to buy the dress, its style and fun color made me bold enough to go for it!

back of dress
The neck has a long strap that ties in the back.

I wasn’t sure what shoes could go with the dress. I initially wanted to pair it with silver heels, but I couldn’t find any that day. As I was checking out, I remembered my recent yellow shoes I thrifted from Goodwill. I realized it would be great pairing plus a fun color block that would make the style even more vibrant.

sitting down in dress
You might remember I got these shoes at Goodwill for $12.96!

So, the entire outfit cost less than $30 at Goodwill. Did I mention I LOVE the dress? Besides being stylish, it’s soft, lightweight and even easy to iron! Not that I’ll be ironing on Spring Break!

in front of wall
I hope everyone has a fun and adventurous Spring Break!
