Goodwill’s Job Connection Centers provide free services to job seekers, helping them access resources and develop skills that can lead to greater employment success. Goodwill Career Navigation Specialists offer guidance through the job search process.

Job Connection centers are open and ready to assist you, in person, over the phone or online at www.myjobconnection.org
Center hours:  10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday

Job Connection services include:

  • Job leads and referrals
  • Career planning and exploration
  • Resume and cover letter development assistance
  • Guidance and tips on effective job searching
  • Soft skills training
  • Basic computer literacy classes
  • Computer and internet access
  • Copier/scanner and telephone access
  • Assistance filling unemployment applications
  • Assistance with SNAP applications
  • Referrals to community resources

In addition, the Centers offer a friendly atmosphere to get answers regarding local services and resources, such as help with food stamps, where to find childcare, transportation and training.

Career Exploration: Learn about yourself and where you want to work. Gain insights on interests, skills and strengths through activities or assessments. Find out about resources that will assist you in learning more about job and career options. Additionally, learn what skills are desirable to employers and ways to develop those skills.

Computer Skills 101: In this interactive computer class you will learn basics about the computer, including how to use the keyboard and mouse. Internet and email instruction also included, if needed.

Financial Literacy: Learn the basic skills for managing money. Topics include: learning the signs of debt distress; restructuring debt; developing a spending plan that accomodates all living expenses; learning how to manage debt and save for the future.

Mastering the Interview: Learn how to prepare for and have a successful job interview. Find out the biggest mistake you can avoid on an interview and what can derail an interview. Also learn what the most frequently asked questions are during an interview and how to respond to them. Participate in a mock interview and receive constructive feedback for a winning interview.

Job Seeking Techniques: A review of basic job search techniques using a variety of sources, including the internet and networking. Learn about the hidden job market and explore ways to find those job openings that are rarely posted.

Overcoming Barriers: Learn how to overcome barriers of a criminal history when seeking employment. This workshop will teach you about the Federal Bonding Program.

Resume Development 101: Learn how to write a winning resume. This workshop will cover the basic components of a resume, including what information to include and not include, and how to best showcase your talents, work history, and experiences.
