NEW, PAID POSITION! Volunteer Coordinator

Responsible for developing Goodwill’s community support of Junior Achievement’s Finance Park by
making key contacts with corporate, civic and local government groups through networking, speaking
engagements, with a primary objective of building Goodwill’s volunteer participation in the operation of
Goodwill’s ‘storefront’ in Finance Park. Find out more HERE.

Finance Park Volunteer

Description of Duties: Encourages financial literacy by working with youth in partnership with Junior Achievement in Goodwill’s storefront within Finance Park.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteers work with 8th and 9th graders in learning basic financial planning, promoting Goodwill as the value shopping option for purchase of essential clothing.

BookWorks Story Reader

Description of Duties: Encourages literacy by reaching out to children where books and reading may not be part of the child’s environment.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteers read to children at Head Start centers and other locations, then present each child with a personalized book of their own to take home.

BookWorks Sorter/Cleaner

Description of Duties: Sorting, cleaning and preparing donated children’s books for BookWorks.
Scope of Responsibility: Sorting, cleaning and preparing donated children’s books.

Elementary School Book Drop

Description of Duties: To further encourage a love of reading in 1st- and 2nd-graders and help improve literacy levels at elementary schools in need, BookWorks arranges for a delivery of elementary-age books to be dropped at schools by volunteers.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteers drop off bundles of books to elementary schools as a special celebrated book delivery.


Description of Duties: Clerical assistants work directly with a Goodwill employee to assist with special projects. Training will be provided.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteer clerical assistants work under direct supervision and are clearly trained in specific pre-determined tasks.

Special Events Volunteer

Description of Duties:  The special event volunteer helps out as needed at fundraisers, community events, job fairs and other activities that are either hosted by Goodwill or supported by Goodwill. Duties may include such tasks as set up/tear down, distribution of food/drinks/goodie bags/promo items, registration, oversight of a particular area or other activities as mutually agreed upon.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteer assistants typically work within a team with direction from a team leader or through detailed written instructions. Projects are assigned, as mutually agreed, according to the interest and skill level of each individual facilitator.

Client Activities & Job Training Volunteer

Description of Duties:  Volunteers will work side-by-side with our clients who have disabilities. Volunteers will help in such areas as: Life Skills Development training in personal care, daily living, communication, mobility/travel, decision-making, social skills, and job readiness skills.
Scope of Responsibility: Volunteer facilitators are activity leaders for a group of participants within a Goodwill housing unit or LIfe Skills Development center. Projects are assigned, as mutually agreed, according to the interest and skill level of each individual facilitator.

Landscaping Volunteer
