Story reader for Goodwill's BookWorks program
BookWorks, Encourages literacy by reaching out to pre-school children where books and reading may not be part of the child's environment. Volunteers read to children at Head Start centers or waiting rooms of clinics, or welfare-to-work offices. Then they present each child with a personalized book of their own to take home. Tutors, Teachers, Workshop Coordinators
Do you have a unique talent or an ability to share with others? Volunteers are needed to assist adults who are disabled and the elderly in special projects within Goodwill's affordable living projects. Opportunities include teaching and supervising arts and crafts workshops, reading, assisting in writing life histories, GED and adult literacy and functional skills training, woodworking and upholstery teachers. Work with our housing supervisors and residents to set your own schedule. Transportation required.
